Grupo Alves Bandeira mobilises schools and community to support the Paediatric Hospital of Coimbra

2025-12-29

This Christmas, the Grupo Alves Bandeira transformed the spirit of solidarity into a true chain of sharing, bringing together schools, children, customers and employees around a common cause: bringing more joy to the thousands of children who, every year, are admitted to the Inpatient Unit of the Paediatric Hospital of Coimbra.

Through this social responsibility initiative, more than 5,000 children were challenged to paint cardboard stars, with each star symbolically representing a €1 donation. This collective involvement made it possible to raise the full amount needed to meet the hospital’s list of needs for the Christmas season.

Among toys, games, musical instruments, stationery materials and many other items, a wide range of goods was delivered to the Hospital’s Early Childhood Education Department, helping to make the daily lives of hospitalised children lighter, warmer and happier.

Now filled with colour and meaning, the stars symbolise far more than a charitable gesture. They represent the hope, empathy and joy we all wish to bring to those who need it most, especially during the festive season.

According to the Marketing Director of the Alves Bandeira Group, this initiative reflects the values that guide the Group’s actions: "Seeing thousands of children, schools, customers and employees united around this cause shows that, by joining forces around a shared goal, we can turn small gestures into actions with a real and positive impact on the lives of those who need it most.”

More than a one-off initiative, this action reinforces the Alves Bandeira Group’s social commitment to people and communities, grounded in a culture of closeness, solidarity and genuine corporate responsibility.
